Aimie & Andres had an amazing wedding outdoor ceremony in Reynold’s Square followed by an elegant reception at the Olde Pink House. We began with bridal portraits at the Dresser-Palmer House. It had just rained so the weather was off to a start but the day cleared up and the sun came out so entire day went according to plan!

I met up with Kaitlyn & Rayce on Tybee Island’s North Beach. Rayce is in the military and they currently live here in the Savannah area. The couple wanted to have some sunset engagement portraits before their May wedding in NY.

Tell us about yourselves. How did you meet? We met in college. Both of us came from out of state to Austin, Texas for school. Rayce was a music major and played at almost every school function. I probably got caught starring at him a few too many times and one night he approached me after playing.

How did you choose your dress for the session? My gold dress is by Gianni Bini which I bought at Dillard’s totally as a last minute outfit for pictures. Neither of us actually knew what to wear and Rayce forgot his belt and tie that he was suppose to wear for those photos. But I couldn’t be more happy with the way they all turned out.

Tell us about your ring!!! SO unique and pretty!  My ring is so special and I had no idea Rayce was going to do the sapphire. I had mentioned to him before that I had wanted a unique ring and I’m so glad he remembered. The sapphire represents both of our birthstones and its also the month that we met. It probably would have been the month he proposed but being military we never really know till the last minute when we will get to see each other again ( and August was close enough).

Plans for wedding location? Our wedding is in May and will be in New York. We could not be more excited!

What made you select the Northern end of Tybee Beach as the location for your Engagement session? What did you like the most about the location?  I chose the north side mostly because of the lighthouse. Once there I was so excited at all the possiblities and the rather empty beaches. It was completely perfect.

We could not have had a more beautiful day for Emma & Joe’s Elopement. I’m so excited to share their wedding ceremony which was in front of the Forsyth Fountain. Joe wore his grandfather’s suit and Emma wore a cicada barrette which was her mother’s along with antique wedding rings from Joe’s Grandmother. It was an amazing, bright spring day for photos.  This couple has such vintage style and we had a wonderful time just enjoying the weather and taking photos all around Forsyth Park.

I enjoy covering intimate weddings just as much as larger weddings. At the end of the day its all about two people coming together and private elopement ceremonies are so special! Diana & Jim are both chefs from North Carolina who selected Savannah as their wedding ceremony location. They had a romantic fireside ceremony in the main parlor of The Gastonian. This Inn is one of my favorite places and its so charming in the evening. We began with photos around the inn, followed by the couple’s wedding ceremony, officiated by Reverend Schulte. We then took a few more photos around the premises and then the couple even went outside for some night time photography in Gastonian’s garden. After photos, the went for a celebration dinner at Local 11 Ten, which is always an amazing, fine dining experience.

I had such a fun time with Zana & Denis at the Gastonian. They eloped to Savannah!!! Their ceremony with Reverend Schulte was romantic in every way. The day was sunny and warm for their beautiful winter wedding. We began with photos in the courtyard area of the Gastonian, then worked our way around the property, taking portraits of the couple at various locations at the Gastonian. I always recommend staying at the Historic Inns of Savannah.  Each time I am in one, its like stepping back in time and I always find myself in awe and trying to imagine what it must have been like to live in Savannah so long ago.  The grand porches, gardens and balconies are simply amazing and provided so many wonderful back drops for their wedding photos. Zana and Denis especially loved the front of the historic mansion and their view of Gaston Street. The street is lined with live oaks that are draped in Spanish moss and it was so charming for portraits. After their photos, the bride and groom enjoyed a celebration dinner at Garbaldi’s, located in City Market. They spent time the rest of the week in Savannah, then traveled to New Orleans before returning their home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Congratulations to this beautiful couple!

How did you meet?  About 6 years ago, we met through my friend who was sitting next to Denis during a flight to Yugoslavia.  Just knowing that we are from the same country helped us feel instantly connected. We had some tough time when Denis’s job moved to Boston area, but obviously, we managed to get over that obstacle. We fly alot for now, but we hope to live in one house very soon.

What activities do you enjoy doing together? Denis loves road biking, and Zana is all about tennis.

What made you decide to have your wedding ceremony at The Gastonian? Initially we planed to get married in Charlston, but thanks to Google, The Gastonian won and the rest is history. The team at the Gastonian was extremelly helpful and proffesional from the first day and we are actually very happy we chose them to be part of our special day!

Where did you get the inspiration/ideas for the details? Red is my favorite color and it just fit so well into Christmas time!

Any planning obstacles? Just one, we had to drive from Raleigh to Savanah in one day so that we could obtain our marriage licence on time
Shoes: I actually had them had them in my closet..they were waiting the perfect moment!
