Catherine & Leonardo Wed on Tybee Island

I really enjoyed my evening with Leonardo & Catherine! Their wedding ceremony took place at the Tybee Island Beach Inlet. Its a more secluded part of the island and was a very natural setting.  They had the most beautiful ceremony near the ocean and said their vows as the tide drifted inland for the evening. After the ceremony, we took group photos with their guests, then together portraits near the Inlet’s pier and in various places around the beach. We all agreed it was the most romantic sunset and so fitting for this couple who is so in love!  After portraits, the newlyweds joined guests for a lovely dinner and live entertainment at the Soho South Cafe on West Liberty. Leonardo is from New York and Catherine is from the UK and they now reside in the historic district of Savannah.  I welcome both of them to our beautiful city and wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Tybee Wedding Beach Sunset Ceremony

We met in November 2012 during a trip to Argentina and Chile. We spent two weeks together exploring Patagonia; hiking, kayaking and meeting penguins. Leonardo is from New York City and Catherine is from the United Kingdom. We now live together in Savannah where Leonardo is currently stationed.

We decided to have our wedding on Tybee Island because we walked there together when Catherine first came to visit the US and loved it ever since! It was the perfect location for a sunset wedding. We would recommend this location to anyone wanting a quiet, secluded area for photographs.

We chose to have a small wedding with only a few friends present as we plan to celebrate with our friends and family later this year in New York City. As the wedding in September will be our main celebration, we decided to keep our wedding on Tybee more informal. I chose a white dress with bold blue flowers on it. This was matched with a bouquet of blue wildflowers. The teapot attached to the bouquet was my “something borrowed” from one of my bridesmaids for our September celebration and symbolises my very British love of tea. It was also a great reminder of friends back “across the pond” on our special day. My fun “something blue” accent was my manicure from La Belle Nail Salon. After our ceremony and photos we enjoyed an intimate dinner with friends at one of our favourite restaurants in Savannah, Soho, where they had a live pianist playing.
